A place for young(and young at heart) leftists who want to fix the system, not tear it down. I find the fractiousness and unwillingness to compromise of a lot of activist circles rather frustrating, so I want to get a critical mass of people together who want to try to rebuild American civic culture and/or work toward a global democratic culture, and try to fix the mess we're currently in. People who care more about concrete results and common sense than ideological purity. People who roughly agree policy-wise with Wellstone, Feingold, Zinn, Benjamin Barber, Robert Reich, and with what Moveon is doing are pretty much what I have in mind. This is not associated with the org. of the same name, incidentally.
